The Slicers Pane is available both from the Workboard Task Pane and the View Task Pane.
Workboard Slicers
The Workboard Slicers Pane contains all the slicers (dimensions) from all the views in the workboard. When you add a new view component from a data source that is not currently found in the workboard, its dimensions are automatically added to the Workboard Slicers Pane.

Slicing by any slicer in the Workboard Slicers Pane applies to all the view components in the workboard. The dimensions that are currently displayed in the views do not appear in the pane.
When you point to a slicer in the Workboard Slicers Pane, the views that are currently sliced by it will be highlighted with a yellow border. In the following example, the Geography Hierarchy dimension has been used in all of the three views on the workboard.

View Slicers
In View Maximized Mode, the Slicers Pane contains the slicers (dimensions) from the data source of the current view. The dimensions that are currently displayed in the view do not appear in the pane.
Click on the View Task Pane toolbar to display the View Slicers Pane.

If there are navigation component parameters defined for the current view, a Parameters tab will display at the top of the slicers. You can click on the Parameters tab to view and use the parameters.
Not all the slicers need to be visible in the Workboard or the View Slicers Pane. When there are too many slicers, you may want to remove the unused ones from the pane to make navigation easier. You can restore hidden slicers via the Dimensions Manager.
Browsing Dimension Members
Clicking on a slicer tab displays the dimension’s members in tree format.

Show non-empty members
By default, all the members of the selected dimension display, including those for whom data is unavailable in the views. To display only the members for whom data is available in a view, point to the slicer tab and click the Show Non-Empty Members button. This button toggles between showing all members and showing only members with values.

Search for member
You can use the search box to search for a specific member: type its name, fully or partially and click the search (1).png){kind=small}
button (or press Enter).

The matching members appear in the search results.

To clear the search results, delete the text in the search box and click .
Searching in a level
To filter the search to a specific level of the dimension, click Search in Level (1).png){kind=small}
button. From the menu that opens, select the level.

Then, perform the search as described in Search for Member.
To return the search to all levels, select All Levels in the menu. Selecting Reset All Dimensions returns the search in all the dimensions to All Levels.
Sliced members
The members that have been used for slicing appear in parentheses next to the dimension names. For Measures, the value that is currently used in the view is shown in parentheses with the ## signs.
