Data Properties

To display Data Properties, click the Data Properties  button on the Task Pane toolbar.

The data properties are available only when the Show Data Properties property in the Application section of the Workboard Properties Pane is set to Yes.

In Data Properties, you can change settings to customize the data properties of the current view.

Percents

You can display data as percentages by setting the following four properties:

Show

To show percentages, select Percents by X Axis (percentages by rows) or Percents by Y Axis (percentages by columns).

Percent of

By default, the grid displays the data as percentages of the parent level. In this case, if one member of the first level is drilled down, the other first level members will display percentages of the dimension total, whereas the drilled-down cells will display percentages of the parent level total.

To display the data as percentages of the grand total or the subtotal, select Grand Total or Subtotal.

In the following example, the data displays as percentages of the grand total on the X-axis.

Percents and values

A grid can display only percentages, or it can display the percentages together with the actual values. To display the actual values together with the percentages, set this property to Yes.

In the following example, data displayed is displayed in both numerical values and as percentages.

Percentage format

Select a format for percentage display.

Empty values

By default, when all of a dimension member’s cells are empty, they are not displayed in the grid. To change this default in order to display members with empty cells, set the property to Yes.

Nulls as blank

By default, cells for which data is not available display as blank cells. To display the letters “NA” (Not Available) in order to indicate empty cells, set the property to No.

Siblings on Axes

Sets the view to Only Siblings mode. When drilling down in this mode, only the data of the drilled-down member displays, and data for other members is hidden. The following example shows the result of drilling down the Toys member in Only Siblings mode. The vertical axis displays the child members of the Toys member. Note that the Cameras and Computers members are no longer displayed.

Show axis Y dimension as tree

When set to Yes, forces dimensions that are moved from the Slicers Pane to a grid to show in tree format.

Dimension Properties

For each dimension in the current view, there is a set of data properties that you can define for advanced capabilities.

Default member

You can define the default member for this dimension using MDX.

Always load default member

Set this property to Yes to load the default member when opening the view.

Slicer formula

You can define a slicer formula for this dimension using MDX.

Use slicer formula

Set this property to Yes to enable the slicer formula for use.

Custom set

You can define one set of members per dimension, using MDX.

Click the value column and then click the arrow to open the MDX edit box.

Enter the MDX statement. You can click the Load Set  button to load an existing set, change it and save it as a new set.

Click  to save the set. To apply the set to the grid without saving it, just click OK.

Use custom set

Set this property to Yes to enable the custom set so that it can be used in the grid.

Enable multiple selection

Enables multiple member selection in the grid.

Show only NonEmpty

By default, all the members of a selected dimension display, including those for whom data is unavailable in the view. Set this property to Yes to display only the members for whom data is available in the view.

Repeat Captions in Axis Y

This property will appear only if the registry entry UseRepeatCaptionsInAxisY = 1 has been added to the Necto server.

When the property is set to Yes, in a grid where the Y-axis contains nested dimensions, the captions of the outer dimension will repeat in all cells, as illustrated below.

When working in this fashion, you can remove the option to drill down members by setting the grid property Show Expand/Collapse Icons to No.
