The Discussion facility enables users to exchange information, collaborate and learn from each other by engaging in discussions concerning the data presented in a workboard.
You can open as many discussions as you want on the same workboard. Any number of users can participate in a discussion.
A discussion consists of messages that are shared by all the users in the discussion. A message contains free text. You can edit or delete a message that you have posted.
A discussion is exposed only to the users who participate in it. The participants can post messages in a discussion you have initiated if the workboard is shared by those participants.
Discussion participants automatically receive e-mail notifications when a new discussion message is posted, provided that an SMTP configuration and participants’ e-mail addresses exist in the system.
You can post a message to another user’s discussion, if the user has shared the workboard with you and has added you to the discussion.
It is possible to initiate a discussion from the Discussions Pane or from the Social tab of the ribbon.
The Discussions option in the Necto Home page displays the discussions that you have initiated and those in which you have participated. Here you receive notifications when you are added to new discussions.
