Placeholders can be embedded in the text component, in image names, in a URL, in formulas, and in other textual elements, in order to dynamically retrieve information from different sources. Placeholders are connected to the displayed views. Some placeholders are connected to user-defined parameters. There are also global placeholders providing general information such as the cube you are working on and the current user.
