Using the Slicers Pane

The Slicers Pane contains all the slicers (dimensions) from all the views in the workboard. When you add a new view component from a data source that is not currently found in the workboard, its dimensions are automatically added to the Slicers Pane.

Click Show Slicers  on the Analyze tab of the ribbon to display the Slicers Pane.

Slicing by any slicer in the Slicers Pane applies to all the view components in the workboard. The dimensions that are currently displayed in the views do not appear in the pane.

To slice a specific view you need to maximize it by double-clicking on it, or by clicking on the component and then the Maximize  button on the Application Bar. Click Restore  to restore the maximized component to its original size, or double-click on it.

When you point to a slicer in the Slicers Pane, the views that are currently sliced by it will be highlighted with a yellow border. In the following example, the Payment Method dimension has been used in all of the three views on the workboard.

Not all the slicers need to be visible in the Slicers Pane. When there are too many slicers, you may want to remove the unused ones from the pane to make navigation easier. You can restore hidden slicers via the Dimensions Manager.
