From the dropdown list at the top of the Properties Pane, select the chart object whose properties you want to define.
Data Members
The data members to show on the chart object can be selected by Time Selection, Members Selection, or Members Expression. Choose an option in Select By.
Time Selection
In Periods Dimension, select Auto (default) for automatic selection of the first date in the list of slicers. Select Date or Date Hierarchy to select from the current Date dimension or Date Hierarchy.
In Last Period, select Auto to take the last period from the currently sliced period in the workboard. Select Last Date to take the last period with data at the level of the currently sliced period. Select one of the other options (e.g. Last Date – Months) to take the last period with data, at the selected level.
To find the last period using a measure other than the default measure, select it in Find Last Period Using.
Choose the Number of Periods to Show and specify whether this is for Previous or Parallel periods. For example, if the selection is Last Date – Months for 3 parallel periods, and the month is January, then last 3 Januaries will show.
In Periods Selection, the default selection is N Last Periods, meaning that the selected number of last periods will show. The First Period AND Last option will show only two members – the first and last periods according to the selections, and will draw a line between them.
The Summary area will explain your selections.
Member Selection
Select a dimension, and then members from that dimension.
Members Expression
Define an MDX statement that returns a list of members.
Series Members
The series members to show on the chart object can be selected by Time Selection, Members Selection, or Members Expression in the same way as in Data Members.
Value
You can use the Data Link option to define the values that will on the chart.
Markers
You can add markers to enhance the information displayed by the chart object, in the same way as in an arc object.
Chart Type
Select the chart type from the dropdown list.
Min/Max Scope
This property determines the minimum and maximum values of the chart, based on the selected mode. The Global mode is used to normalize the charts for the grid, since when selected as in-cell visuals, the same series can appear repeatedly.
Min/Max Labels
Choose the positioning of the chart labels.
Marker Location
Choose the location of the marker from the dropdown list.
Click to open the palette and choose a color for each series. Or, use the Data Link option.
Color
Click to open the palette and choose a color for the object’s background. Or, use the Data Link option.
Transparency
If the background should be transparent, set the transparency value.
X, Y
The position of the container.
Width, Height
The width and height of the container.
Rotation
If the chart should be rotated, specify the value of rotation in degrees. Or, use the Data Link option.
The chart object has the same properties under the Actions category as the Text object.
