Creating a New Data Source

Data sources are organized in a tree structure (like files and folders). You can place them in the public folder, available for all, or in a private folder for personal use.

The procedure for creating a new data source is similar to creating other Necto administration entities: You create an empty data source, name it and save it. Then, you fill in the data source details.

To create a new data source:

1.      Click the New  button on the ribbon or select New from the options menu in the Data Sources Pane.

2.      In the New Data Source wizard, select a data source type and click Data Source Creation. Or, just double-click on the data source type to move to the Data Source Creation step.

3.      The Data Source Creation step displays settings and parameters that are relevant for the selected data source type. Enter the required settings and click Save.

4.      In the Save step, use the buttons at the top to display the Public , Private  or another user’s  storage. You can use the search box to find a folder. Select the folder where you want to save the new data source.

In Data Source Name, enter a name for the data source.

5.      Click Finish.
