Creating a View Component

View is the main component of a workboard. It retrieves data from a data source and shows it in a grid or a chart.

Creating a view component, like creating other workboard components involves two main steps: (1) opening a view component container on the workboard, and (2) using the View Wizard to populate the container with a view.

Opening a container

When you create a workboard based on a layout template, the view component container(s) appears on the workboard and you just need to populate it. When you create an empty workboard, you need to open a view component container using the View Component  button from the Toolbox.

Populating

The View Wizard is used to place an existing view in the view component or create a new view. The View Wizard provides access to the views used in the public and private workboards, as well as to those used in other users’ shared workboards. If you cannot find a view that serves your purposes, you can create a new one from the available data sources.
